Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park spreads in Nainital, Pori Garhwal and Bijnor District of Uttaranchal. This forest reserve covers 1318.54 sq kms area in which 520 sq kms is the core area, which is the tiger reserve of Corbett National Park and rest area is buffer zone.

Corbett National Park always famous amongst the wild life lovers and photographers because there they can capture a very close view of tigers, leopards, crocodiles, elephants, various species of dears, wild bore, jackal and many more animals in there camera. The beautiful river Ramganga is passed from the mid of Corbett National Park.

Dhikala was the main hunting zone of Corbett national park in old days. Now it is the most favorite place of tourists. A well facilitated forest rest house is situated along the river Ramganga. One can watch the every movement of wild animals from the Rest house, with their binoculars. Bijrani and Jhirna are two another famous zone of Corbett National Park, Corbett tiger reserve release permit for jeep safari in both zone.

In Corbett National Park more than 48 species of mammals. The main habitants of Corbett national park are tiger, leopard, mammals, barking dear, langur, black dear, mongoose, wild dogs etc.

Corbett national park is home for more than 520 bird species which makes it heaven for the birds watcher. Orioles, Parakeets, Bulbuls, Hornbills, Doves, Kingfishers, Owls, Cuckoos, and Bee Eaters, Fork tails, Finches and many other rare species of birds mark here during the year.

Safari is the best option to explore the wild life in Corbett National Park. In Corbett National Park three kind of safari available those are canter safari, jeep safari and elephant safari.

Joy of elephant safari you can feel in Dhikala. Elephant safari in grass land of Dhikala is very famous. It is very thrilling to sit on back of elephant and ride in man height grass, dense forest, and deep valley.

Jeep safari is another best way to watch wild animal and natural beauty. Six person’s maximum allowed in one jeep with one driver and forest guide.

Corbett tiger reserve is also providing the facility to stay in forest rest house. Famous forest rest houses are Dhikala, Gairal, Sharpduli, Sultan and Bijrani. Only Dhikala forest rest house has electricity facility.

Best Time to Visit Corbett National Park

Corbett National Park has four main safari zones. Every zone has their own timings which are listed below:

Dhikala Zone: 15 November to 15 June

Bijrani Zone: 15 October to 30 June

Durgadevi Zone: 15 October to 30 June

Jhirna Zone: Full Year

How to reach Jim Corbett National Park

By Train: Ramnagar is the nearest railway station. Corbett park is 5 kms. Far from there.

By Bus: Ramnagar is the nearest bus station.

By Air: Pantnagar is the nearest airport. It is 50 kms far from Ramnagar. Weekly flights are available to Delhi.
