Culture Of Uttarakhand
Uttarakhand also known as the Dev Bhoomi, is the most stunning and attractive province of northern India. God has created this region in with plentiful of grace and elegance. The world famous Kumbh Mela and Ardh Kumbh Mela, which are held in Haridwar after a gap of 6 and 12 years are the major crowd pullers here. There are other fairs being organized here every year, which are linked with the trading activities of the local people.
Music and Dance of Uttarakhand
This culture is rich in the department folk songs. The beautiful environment here had inspired many hearts to compose soothing melodies and tunes. Chhopati is very popular here. They are original love songs exchanged between men and women in the form of questions and answers. Other prevalent folk song forms are, Mandals, Panwaras, Khuded, Basanti , Thadya and Jhoda, Laman, Chhura etc. Different kinds of common musical instruments are Dhol, Damoun, Turri, Ransingha , Bhankora, Masakbhaja etc. Langvir Nritya, performed by only men is prevailing here along with Bhotia Dance, Pandava Dance, Barada Nati folk dance forms.
Uttarakhand follows a tradition of including fruits like Orange, Mango, Peach, Lichis, and Guava etc. Uttarakhand is happening place with festivals and fairs. The delicacies like Bhat ki Churkani, Aloo ka Gutke, Kaapa, Palak Tinri, Gaderi ka Gutke, Madue ki Roti with butter are savored here. The cuisine is delicious, prepare with love and dedication.
